My little Stockton isn't so little anymore! He started preschool!
He had mixed feelings about it, he was excited to learn new things, but he wasn't excited about going all by himself. He wanted Mommy and Daddy to stay with him. (Major separation anxiety lately.) We got him a few new outfits for school. He LOVED this tractor shirt (we got a matching tractor hat as well, but probably won't be wearing that to school.) Then we found these little shoes with bulldozers on the heel. When he saw them he freaked! He had to have them!
When I asked him what kinds of things he was going to learn at preschool he said, "Letters, numbers, how to swim, and how to drive a dump truck!" I told that to his teacher and she said, "Hum... I'm going to have to brush up on my dump truck driving skills!"
He desperately wanted a picture with his baby sister.
Sadly the situation turned very ugly very quickly. We pulled up to the preschool and he wouldn't get out of the car. I finally got him out with a promise that we would go to McDonald's if he were a good boy at preschool. (Shameless bribery!) We got out then quickly turned and started running down the street in the opposite direction! Brady had to run after him. Then Brady went in with him, he wouldn't let Brady out of his reach. Finally Brady left him screaming with his teacher after a few mins. I was so worried about him! I came home and cried and cried! How can my baby be in school?!
But, this is what I found when I picked him up! A happy smiling boy that loved every second of his first day of preschool! And he ate a happy meal for lunch ;)
He has gotten better and better everyday that I drop him off at preschool and he loves it! He comes home so eager to share what he has learned and show me what projects he worked on. Love it!
