MIB: Mama in Black

So, Sharon wanted to see me in some black. So here are some photos (I took these by myself with a timer, so please forgive me for not being centered.)

See in black all the bumps and curves just seem to blend together!

Until I turn to the side! Then the baby bump comes out!

Black is my new best friend

So, Brady used to be on Institute Council a few years ago. The old coucil members got together for a dinner on Saturday night. To say the least I was dreading meeting a bunch of new people, because I'm 7 months pregnant. So I put on my most slimming black maternity shirt (slimming maternity shirt, isn't that an oxy moron?) and a nice black sweater and we headed off. When we walked in people said hi and then a couple of the girls were looking at me then would look away when I caught them looking. Finally one girl said, "I'm so sorry, but I'm afraid to ask... but are you expecting?" I wanted to jump up and kiss her! Am I expecting? That means she wasn't sure! That is a flippin' miracle! Then she was shocked when I said I was 7 months along. Oh, I love black! I'm going to wear it everyday! That's much better than the responses I got last week when I wore a maternity shirt that looked more like a circus tent!

Not your typical Valentine's Day

So, I'm sure many of you spent your Valentine's Day having a romantic dinner with your hubby, or maybe exchanging Valentines with your family, or helping your kids make Valentines for their friends. How did I spend my Valentine's Day? Watching very graphic birthing videos and learning other fun things about birth! Brady and I had our Childbirth Education class ALL DAY on Saturday. It was from 9 - 5. It was Brady's idea to go to the class on Valentine's Day. He said, "What better way to spend Valentine's Day?" Well, I could think of a few! But, honestly it was a good class. I learned a few new things. And Brady learned A TON and now he's getting all pepped up for the birth of our baby. His favorite part was when they brought out the model of the pelvic bone and put the baby doll down through it and showed how it has to be in just the right position to fit through. It was like a light bulb went on for Brady, and he finally understood why birth is so painful.
But, don't worry we didn't put off all Valentine's Day celebration. We went out to dinner at Johnny Carino's, and then came home, snuggled on the couch to watch the romantic Slam Dunk contest. I actually really enjoyed it! It was good just to be home with my Love.
Poor Brady didn't feel good the next day, he was fighting a nasty cold. We went to Sacrament then he came home and went to sleep. He slept from about 9:30ish til about 2 pm. He felt a lot better after, but then as the night went on the cold moved down into his chest and he started coughing uncontrollably. He took some NyQuil, and went to bed at 9 pm. When I heard him still coughing at 1:30 am and the NyQuil hadn't kicked in, I knew something had to be done. So I got bundled up and made a run to the store to find a better medication that had an expectorant. It helped and he was able to get some sleep. But, he was up at 5 am to go ice fishing with his dad! Crazy guy. I just really hope doesn't get pneumonia!

Baby Belly

I've had many requests for me to post pics of my baby belly, so here you are folks! This photo was taken last week when I was 28 weeks along. Everything has been going great with he pregnancy, besides the discomforts of being bigger than I'm used to and the usual aches and pains. I was having problems with my tailbone, but it's getting better. I'm just so grateful that everything has gone well and that both the baby and I are healthy.

We got a crib and changing table from my cousin, Leslie, and we got it set up today! I'm so excited! We had to do some major rearranging and de-junking to make room, but we did it! I ordered a cute crib bedding set online, so once it comes and I get it all set up I will post some pics. I just can't believe it's getting so close. We are so excited!
