Happy Birthday Ashley & Dallan!

My nephew Dallan's 4th birthday was just a couple of days ago. He's got the cutest personality! He always says the cutest things like "Oh, that Rachel and Brady are going to have the cutest baby!" and while he is praying he'll say, "Please bless us that we will be able to press forward." He loves bowling and we go every year for his birthday.

Today is also my niece Ashley's 6th birthday. She is such a doll! She'll just melt your heart. She's got a big imagination and she's really good at everything she does. She kicked trash in bowling at Dallan's Birthday party the other night! She has chopped her hair off since this picture was taken and donated it to locks of love. It was all her idea. Such a sweetheart!

I love you two! Happy Birthday!

Major Award

I've been meaning to post about this, because it happened over two weeks ago... But, I belong to a group called SMPS (Society for Marketing Professional Services). It's basically a club for all the marketers in the architecture/engineering/construction industry. This year I am on the board of directors and I'm the Public Relations Director. As such, I'm in charge of the annual Marketing Communications Awards. So I did all the planning and I entered something that I designed into the competition.

I entered the "Reaveley Candy Bar" I just redesigned the wrapper, and put some funny little things on the back and wrapped it around a Hershey bar and we gave them out at our open house in the spring.

Well the candy bar won first place in the collateral category. I had to present the awards at the SMPS Holiday Gala, so I'm presenting the award to my boss. Even though I was in charge of the awards, I was not a judge, so I did win fair and square!

Wierd, yet Logical Dream

Okay, if you know me well, you know I have wacked out dreams. But, I think this dream I had the other night took the cake.

In my dream I gave birth to a.... jar of mayonnaise! My little jar of mayonnaise grew up and married ... a bottle of mustard! The mayo and mustard had a baby, and it was a mixture of mayo and mustard. So my mayo/mustard grandchild grew up and married... a ruffle potato chip.

Most psycho and random dream ever, right? It actually makes perfect sense with the translation from www.dreammoods.com . I looked up all the elements of my dream in their dream dictionary.

Birth
To dream that you are giving birth to a non-human creature, signifies your overwhelming (an unfounded) fear in the health of your baby. You are overly concerned that your baby may have birth defects. This type of dream is common in expectant mothers in their second trimester.

Mayonnaise
To see or eat mayonnaise in your dream, represents disappointment in your waking life. It also indicates the occurrence of insults and disrespect in some situation or relationship. (I had been so disappointed over something that had happened that night and someone had told me how huge I was and that she didn't get that big til she was 9 months.)

Mustard
To see mustard in your dream, signifies success and wealth. (Brady just got his new job)

Potato Chips
To see or eat potato chips in your dream, symbolizes your overindulgent behavior. (We had a huge potluck at work that day and I ate tons, and then Brady and I ate at Mexican that night and I way over ate.)

So you see...it makes perfect sense!

All Grown Up

My little Brady is growing up so fast! Today he took his last final in his under-graduate college career. I am so proud of him for working so hard and for getting a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

With graduation and a new baby coming Brady knew that he has major responsibilities on the horizon. He began preparing for a good job a while back. We both thought that he would get on full time at the Church's Audio Visual Department, where he works now. But, with economic downturns, full-time positions are hard to come by in that department. So I helped him design a nice resume and and we practiced common job interview questions. Armed with a degree, nice work experience, people skills, and his stunning good looks, Brady set out to hunt for a job. He sent out his resume to several places and had a number of interviews. There was one particular job that I felt really good about even though it was something new for Brady. It was in the Church's computer department helping to train people and improve the church's database. Brady has worked a lot with the church's data base, so he applied. They wanted someone that knew the database software and had great people skills. Apparently computer geeks aren't the best at client relations. They liked Brady and called him for a second interview. Then what seemed like weeks past (it was really only a week and a day) and they called and offered him the position! They want him to start right away! So tomorrow my little sweetie starts his first full-time job as a Functional Analysts for the Church. We feel so blessed that he was able to find this job right out of school and right before our baby comes. Now my little Brady is all grown up and ready to provide for his family. I love you Brady and I'm so proud of you!

Sugar and Spice? Or Snips and Snails?

This Thursday we will find out the the answer to the question that has been on our minds for the past twenty weeks- what kind of baby are we having? One made of sugar and spice and everything nice? Or snips and snails and puppy dog tails? We'll be sure to let you know! Only two more days! Leave a comment with your guess of what it will be.

A Christmas Surprise

My parents have had the same old raggedy Christmas tree for as long as I have lived, and much longer than that! I think that thing came across the plains with the pioneers, and it was getting pretty worn out. So, this year for Christmas we all decided to go in and buy my mom a new Christmas Tree and new ornaments and decorate it for her. She already had some pretty "frosted" fruit ornaments that she got a few years ago, so we just added to those. And we added some photo ornaments with a picture of each family.

It worked out great. Yesterday my mom had been asking my dad to get the Christmas Tree up, and my dad just ignored her. Then this morning, my sister, two of my sisters-in-law, Niki, Rachel , and I met at my parents house. My mom had had a really rough night last night, so she was still asleep. We quietly set up the tree and had quite of few of the decorations up before she woke up. She first saw Rebecca's baby, Brock and was wondering what the heck was going on. Then when she saw us all and what we were doing, she just burst into tears! She was so grateful. She sat back and let us finish decorating the tree, and the whole house and loved every second of it!

Update on Little Loie

Just so you all know, my mom is doing much better now. She came home from the hospital Monday night and she's feeling great. She said, "Now, I'm a human being!" So, that's good to hear. Thanks for all your support and prayers.

Little Loie

My poor mom had to go in on Friday to have a partial knee replacement. The surgery went well, but she has been miserable ever since. The pain meds just aren't working for her, or make her so sick that she can't hold anything down. She's just been having a rough time. But, hopefully she will get to go home tomorrow. But, the worst part is, she has to go through it all over again next month for her other knee. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She's been a trooper, but she can use all the help and support she can get.

The DREADED Question: "So, when are you due?"

So I am now 16 weeks along. It seems like these past couple of weeks my belly has really started to poke out. But, I didn't think it was to the point where people in public would actually notice. I was wrong. Yesterday we were at Blockbuster, (I was not wearing what I am in the photo, I was wearing a much looser shirt, but NOT a maternity shirt) and the cashier guy suddenly said, "So, when are you due?" I think I made an audible gasp. Yes, I am pregnant. Yes, I have a little belly. But, WAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! I just didn't expect the question from any strangers until much later in the pregnancy. The whole night, I just kept saying to myself, "When am I DUE? He asked when am I DUE!?" That guy is dang lucky that I'm actually pregnant. I guess I have now crossed the threshold of pregnant belly-dom.

But, at the other hand, it's nice to have visible evidence that there really is a little baby growing inside of me. (It's the size of an avacado this week.) It makes it more real. We had a doctor appointment this last week. I gained 3 more pounds this month. I'm right on track as far as weight and measurements. And we got to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was amazing. I love that little whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop! Everything seems to be going perfectly! What a blessing!

We were suppose to find out the gender on Thanksgiving day, but those dang doctors won't be in that day... I can't believe them! So we have to wait til December 4th.

Happy Halloween!

It was a pretty fun and laid back Halloween for us. Work was fun because so many people had fun costumes. I went as a prenant nun. But, the "Ping Pong Champion" won the costume contest. We always play ping pong on our breaks at work and people have been taking it pretty seriously. He had ping pong balls tucked into his wrist bands and those are old shorts were found in a deep dark corner in his high school. He looked hilarious. He said he was trying to look like John McEnroe. I didn't know how that was - so I Googled him, and I about died laughing!

Brady's dad grew a pumpkin in his garden that was so perfectly round. So Brady decorated it like a basketball of course. We put it out on our porch and made it look like it was going into a hoop!

We just stayed at home. We hardly got any trick-or-treaters this year. Our friends Charlie and Eli came over with their son Max and as they were walking in other kids saw that there was a door on the side of the house, they just bombarded us. But that was it, we got no more trick-or-treaters after that.
We watched a semi-scary movie - Dragonfly. I had seen it before a long time ago, and that's why I agreed to watch it. (I couldn't watch something too scary, not with my pregnancy hormones... I would have nightmares for days!) I remembered the awesome ending, but I had forgotten all the scary parts, so I was still really jumpy.

Anellina's Blessing

Brady's sister, RoShawn, and her husband, Josh, blessed their baby, Anellina, this past Sunday in Logan. It was a very special day. Anellina was so good during the blessing and didn't make a peep.

This is a 5 generation picture. So special! Grandma Smith is 86, and Anellina is her great-great grandchild!

Extra Credit

Take a minute and take this survey about blogging. Then at the end put in "Brady Haider" as the student that told you about this survey, and he can get extra credit in one of his classes! The survey takes about 5-10 minutes. Thanks!

Orgill Halloween Party

Today we had the Orgill Family Halloween Party at David and Terra's house. It was a blast, and everyone's costumes were so much fun! We played games, decorated cookies, and had a costume contest. Bryan got best costume.

Dustin and Rachel were mad scientists...or phlebotimists... we're not sure. (They had ARUP lab coats on) Alex was the Little Caesar's guy. (He had a little piece of chest hair glued on that was awesome, but you can't see it in this pic)

Loie was... we'll we don't know. But, yes those are her glasses that she once wore. Jackson is with her, and the masked guy is Nathan.

Jackson, Bryan as Britney Spears, Shae, and Devin.

Brayden and Tyler. Whitney and her friend Linzie.

Alyssa and Shae.

Niki as Wendy. Brad as Peter Pan and Stratton as Captain Hook. Stratton was so cute and so into his character. He wanted to sword fight everyone.

Alex, Ashley, Heather, Brock, and Emily. Rebecca and Kevin as Mylie and Billy Ray Cyrus.

John McCain and Sarah Palin. Stratton, Isaac, and Dallan next to the "Scary Guy".

David and Terra's house was all decked out! It was so much fun!

Every corner was decorated. They had spooky holographic pictures hanging on the wall.

Of course my mom had to sneek her pink flamingo in the flower pot on the front porch!

Birthday Festivities

For Brady's birthday we had a big get together with Brady's family. Brady loves his deer hunting cake. When I picked it up the lady at the bakery said, "That's the cutest red neck cake I've ever seen!"

Brady got some cool stuff, including some baby stuff, like this baby blanket and burp rag with basketballs! His mom made them for our baby! If it's a girl, she better learn to like basketball!Brady's big present was a new laptop!!! He was way excited and loves it!
Brady was so excited that Josh and RoShawn came down from Logan, so he could see his little niece, Anellina.

4th Picture

I saw this on Amy's blog and thought it was fun. Post the 4th picture in your 4th folder in your My Pictures folder and desribe it. My computer is out of commission right now, so this is actually from Brady's computer.
This is a pic of a sailboat off the coast of Cancun, Mexico on our honeymoon. Brady and I were on another sailboat very similar to this one when we took the picture. We sailed over to an island called Isla Mujeres for the day. We had a ton of fun, until they broke out the tequila, and everyone on the boat was drunker than a skunk, except for us and a little family with a 5 year old girl. Poor girl! At the time we were appalled, but now we wish we had video of all the gay guys that were dancing around and almost fell over board.
