Scales and Tails

We went to a reptile show for toddlers at the library. Yes, you read right, a REPTILE show for TODDLERS. I don't know how they had the guts to do that, but somehow they pulled it off.

They started out with some pretty tame lizards. Like this guy. I don't know what he was, but he creeped me out.

That little blond kid picked the lizard up by the tail and started swinging him around shortly after this picture was taken! His mom thought it was hilarious and just kept snapping pictures of him. HELLO! Your son has a lizard by it's tail, put the camera down and get the lizard away from him!

Then they brought out the snakes. Pretty harmless at first, with this little guy.

Then they got bigger...

And bigger....

... and BIGGER! Holy moly! Why, oh, why are you bringing an 8 foot python in the same room as dozens of 2 year olds!? I was was officially freaked out at this point. Luckily, so was Stockton at and he did not want to touch him.

Then they ended with some nice calm turtles.

Stockton loved the baby ones.

The little baby going for a ride on the mommy turtle. For cute!

Besides almost giving the chills about every 5 seconds, and a near heart attack when they pulled out the big snake, the show was pretty good. I'm just glad that no kids were harmed by any animals... you know... like the 8 foot python. Sheesh!
